Pavel Fischer, a member of the Czech Parliament, recently tweeted his support for Hong Kong businessman Jimmy Lai, calling upon the Beijing government to release him, as well as others held for merely being opponents of the Chinazi regime.
I call on China to release #FreeJimmyLai and all political prisoners.
Last month, #JimmyLai has spent 1000 days behind bars for defending freedom and democracy in #HongKong. Jimmy stood up for democracy. Now, its up to us to stand up for him. We stand with his son Sebastien in his campaign to free his father. https://nbcnews.com/news/jimmy-lais-son-says-jailed-hong-kong-media-tycoon-refuses-cowed-rcna117391

Jimmy Lai became a media tycoon in Hong Kong’s liberal economic system under British rule. When the Communist authorities began ripping out the legal protections guaranteed by handover treaty, Lai put his fortune on the line and became an outspoken advocate for liberty. His activism caused him to arrested and thrown in prison, as documented in the Acton Institute’s movie The Hong Konger. The movement to gain Jimmy Lai’s release is growing: follow the Twitter/X hashtag #FreeJimmyLai or visit the @SupportJimmyLai account.
