In response to the Hamas attack on Israel, China embraced the two-state solution to the long-burning Israel-Palestinian conflict.
“The fundamental way out of the conflict lies in implementing the two-state solution, and establishing an independent State of Palestine,” read a statement by China’s Foreign Ministry, reiterating comments made by Zhāng Jūn 张军, China’s Permanent Representative to the UN.
In Beijing with a delegation of U.S. Senators, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) complained directly to Xi Jinping about the tone, saying he was “disappointed” that China’s official response “showed no sympathy or support for the Israeli people during these troubled times.”
To end the cycle of conflict between Palestine and Israel, there must be a return to the “two-state solution,” and resumption of peace talks aimed at establishing an independent state of Palestine to achieve peaceful coexistence of Palestine and Israel, said Zhai Jun, special envoy of the Chinese government on the Middle East issue, in a phone call with Amal Jadou, first deputy minister of foreign affairs of Palestine, on Wednesday, according to China’s Foreign Ministry.

But what about the “two-state solution”? Hmm . . . rather than any sort of violence or threat of military attack, two sides that cannot both agree to peacefully live together in harmony should formalize an agreement as two separate nation-states, who can choose their own paths, hopefully more peacefully.
Makes sense to me! But don’t hold your breath waiting for the CCP to renounce violence against Taiwan and embrace the right of the Taiwanese to decide their own future.
Let peace and negotiation decide these conflicts — not violence and war. Starting with China at the Taiwan Strait.
